SPARKS –– Learning the skills and fundamentals of basketball and playing games with a team will be the order of the day for children who attend the Sparks Parks and Recreation Department’s Mini Basketball League. The program, geared for boys and girls in kindergarten through second grade, will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 14 to Oct. 21 at the Alf Sorensen Community Center at 1400 Baring Blvd. One-hour games and practices will take place between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.
The cost for the Mini Basketball League is $54 or $45 for residents of Sparks. Financial assistance is available for eligible households. Register online at www.sparksrec.com through Sept. 9, or call the Alf Sorensen Community Center at 353-2385.
