SPARKS — On Friday, Sparks Police Officers received information that a man was in possession of child pornography on his cell phone. Officers met the reporting party at Burgess Park. After an investigation, the suspect, William Barragan-Diaz, a 28-year-old Reno man, admitted to possessing the child pornography images on his cell phone.

Barragan-Diaz was arrested and booked into the Washoe County Jail on seven counts of possession of child pornography with a bail amount of $70,000. It does not appear that any of the children depicted were from any local areas and all of the pornography appeared to have been originally downloaded from the internet. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Sparks Police Department at 353-2231.
