RENO — On Tuesday at about 11:30 p.m., Reno police officers responded to the area of 2500 E. Second St. on a reported stabbing. Upon arrival officers found the victim and the suspect. After talking to the witnesses and suspect it appears the victim initiated a fight. The victim’s friends impeded the suspect’s ability to leave. The suspect admitted to stabbing the victim, claiming self-defense. The suspect was not arrested and the case is under investigation.
The case involved gang members but is not gang motivated. The victim was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center with a serious wound and is listed as stable.
