On Saturday at about 10 a.m. a woman reported that she had been kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a stranger in the 600 block of South Virginia Street. At about 11 a.m. while Reno police patrol officers were investigating the crime, a second female victim called 911 and said she had just been kidnapped and the suspect attempted to sexually assault her in the 1000 block of South Virginia Street. The victims did not know each other and the incidents were two separate crimes approximately two hours apart.
Both victims gave officers details about the suspect and his vehicle that were very similar. Reno Police Department Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Division detectives were called out and at about 5 p.m. the suspect vehicle and the suspect were located in the 700 block of Brinkby Avenue.
The suspect is Lamont Howard, a 36-year-old Reno resident. He was arrested for two counts of attempted sexual assault, two counts of first degree kidnapping and one count of sexual assault. His bail was set at $100,000.
