SUN VALLEY — On June 21, Washoe County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a domestic disturbance on Midnight Court. When the deputies arrived, they learned that David Mosqueda, 22, had armed himself with a knife and locked himself inside a bathroom. Deputies made entry into the bathroom and discovered that Mosqueda had self-inflicted injuries to his neck, wrist and stomach.
Detectives discovered that he had allegedly sexually assaulted his 4-year-old niece. Mosqueda is a previously convicted sex offender.
Mosqueda was taken into custody and booked into the Washoe County jail on Wednesday. He is charged with sexual assault of a child under the age of 16 and lewdness with a child under the age of 14.
