The Spanish Springs 11-year-old Cal Ripken All-Stars are well on their way to winning a state championship after routing Fallon 10-0 in four innings Friday night.

Spanish Springs is coming off a night when it took down Silver State 8-1 on the first day of the tournament in the three-team bracket.

Fallon struggled to keep Spanish Springs off the basepaths after the first inning.

Zac Whitely and Derek Struber led off the bottom of the second inning with back-to-back singles and Cole Drescher drove them home when he doubled up the middle past the center fielder for a 2-0 lead.

Spanish Springs added another pair of runs in the third inning. Chase Lee singled in Anthony Galati from second base, and Lee eventually scored on a balk.

The floodgates opened in the fourth frame. Spanish Springs rallied for six runs to end the game via the 10-run mercy rule.

Drescher opened the inning by drawing a walk. Isaac Ruiz followed with a run-scoring single, making it 5-0.

Mateo Lemus recorded an RBI single, while a Galati groundout plated another run.

Whitely picked up his second hit of the game and knocked in a run, and Fallon walked in the game-ending run with two outs.

Southpaw Alan Lummel picked up the shutout on the mound for the hosts.
