As a sequel to last year’s Art of Model Railroading exhibit, this year the Sparks Heritage Museum is featuring the larger G-Scale Garden Railroad. These model trains are designed to be run outside and layouts are made from natural materials including a variety of plants and shrubbery. This exhibit includes photo opportunities inside a steam train diorama.
All children who visit the museum will also receive a complimentary copy of the “Color Me Sparks” coloring book.
The Northern Nevada Garden Railroad Society will be operating the model trains on Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m. during July.
Sparks Heritage Museum is located at 814 Victorian Ave. Admission is $5 for adults and children under 12 are free. The museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. For more information, call 355-1144 or visit www.sparksmuseum.org.
