Spawning out of the beach town of Huntington Beach, Calif. in 1984, the Offspring have more than two decades worth of music to excite fans Saturday when the band takes the stage at 8 p.m.
The Offspring, which includes singer and guitarist Dexter Holland, bassist and vocalist Greg Kriesel, guitarist Noodles and drummer Pete Parada, found mainstream success with the release of the band’s third album “Smash” in 1994.
Launching off the “Smash” album, the Offspring found three top-ten hit with the singles with the No. 1 “Come Out and Play,” the No. 4 “Self Esteem” and the No. 6 “Gotta Get Away.”
The band continued the trend with hit singles such as 1996’s “Gone Away” and 1998’s “Pretty Fly for a White Guy,” which spurred a slew of singles off the “Americana” album, including “The Kids Aren’t Alright."
Keeping their tongues sharp and the music fresh, the band members came together to keep the albums rolling out and released “Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace” in 2008.
Finding a happy medium in the charts, “Rise and Fall” had the singles “Hammerhead” settle at No. 8 on the charts and “You’re Gonna Go Far Kid” at No. 10.
With a number of hits, as well as fans' favorites, the Offspring will hit the stage after opening act Terrible Things takes the stage at 8 p.m. in the Grand Theatre in the Grand Sierra Resort. Tickets are $36.50 and can be purchased at www.grandsierraresort.com or www.ticketmaster.com.
