SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — Sparks police say two people were arrested shortly after two others were shot and injured outside an apartment building.

Stefan Howard and Deandrae Brown were arrested while leaving the scene shortly after the incident Tuesday afternoon.

Michael Earl, 22, was wounded in the leg. Police say a 17-year-old boy was shot in the stomach. Both were treated at a hospital and released.

Investigators believe the shootings stemmed from a fight earlier in the week.

Police say several witnesses identified Brown as the shooter. He was jailed on suspicion of two counts of battery with a deadly weapon.

Howard, who had his 2-year-old son with him when he drove Brown to the scene, was jailed on suspicion of child endangerment.
