RENO — The annual Marianarchy benefit concert will be held Friday and Saturday at Zephyr Lounge.

The two-day concert event honors the memory of Marianne Psota, who died after a long battle with chronic epilepsy at age 37. Her boyfriend, Nick Ramirez, started the concert when Marianne got sick in 2000. After her death, Ramirez decided to put on a benefit show once a year, dubbed Marianarchy in her honor and continue the tradition of helping friends in need and to raise awareness of causes that seem to fit Psota’s story.

This weekend's Marianarchy event is for local musician Dale Kellams, who is battling cancer, and the Reno Cancer Foundation.

The concert will feature more than 28 acts over two days. Zephyr Lounge is located at 1074 S. Virginia St. For more information, e-mail Nick501@charter.net or go to Facebook and search for Marianarchy.
