Hand-cycling, kayaking, sailing and adapted rock climbing will be some of the sports available that day. People of all ages and ability levels are welcome to come out and try something new in a safe, fun environment. Participants are required to have a guardian sign a release form to take part.

A new recreational youth volleyball league is available through the Sparks Parks and Recreation Department. The summer program, Dig It!, is designed to be fun for everyone. A prior knowledge of volleyball is not required since the first four practices will be a group clinic where new players will learn volleyball basics, such as serving, passing, setting, spiking, rotation and rules of the game. The program will take place at the Alf Sorensen Community Center, 1400 Baring Blvd., from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, June 21 through Aug. 4. An end-of-the-season tournament will be held Aug. 6.
