Washoe County Sheriff’s detectives issued a statement Thursday indicating that they are still investigating leads in the double homicide of Albert and Joan Musalo. In the two years since the murders, no suspects have been arrested.

The victims, both in their 70s, were found murdered in their home on Lake Geneva Drive on March 28, 2006. Their daughter discovered the victims after not being able to contact them for several days. Both victims had been shot to death.

The Musalo family has raised $30,000 in reward money for any information leading to a suspect. In addition, Secret Witness offers a $2,500 reward per victim for any information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible.

Detectives have interviews hundreds of people and have used FBI profilers to assist in narrowing down a suspect. In January, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office partnered with Clear Channel Outdoor and Secret Witness with a regional billboard campaign, which generated many leads.

To date, many “persons of interest” have been investigated and cleared and no arrests have yet been made in this case, according to the sheriff’s statement.

“This is an active investigation and all leads are continually being pursued,” Sheriff Michael Haley said. “We are committed to solving this crime and we will vehemently continue this investigation until it is solved.”

Detectives ask that anyone with information contact 328-3320 or call Secret Witness at 322-4900.
