Among other topics, the council will discuss altering the allowable work hours for a portion of the Legends at Sparks Marina project, where many residents have been complaining about the noise.
The issue went before the Sparks Planning Commission Thursday, where a split vote sent a recommendation to the city council that construction hours be extended to 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Current allowable construction hours at the Legends site are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and no work on Sundays.
Contractors under RED Development are requesting the change because of setbacks in their construction goals, including lengthy discussion on bond funding for the project.
Other items on the agenda include:
• Discussing the 2009 Legislature Bill Draft Requests.
• Consideration and possible award of the informal quote for the Annual Fire Hydrant Replacement Project to Reno-Tahoe Construction, Inc., in the amount of $95,867.80.
• Proclamation of Coney Island Bar Day
• Proclamation of National Public Works Week
• A presentation on the Southeast Connector Project
