The $640 allocation to the Reno Police Department will supplement about 130 cleanup kits that are without the liquid graffiti cleaner normally included in the units. The cleaner will be put into 150 spray bottles that are being donated by Reno Paint Mart.
The kits include T.S.W. Graphite Remover, goggles, a cleaning pad, gloves and instructions to help cleanup most graffiti vandalism. Spray bottles in the kits were sponsored through donations from Reno Paint Mart about a year ago, and the kits were assembled by juveniles and adults at the Jan Evans Juvenile Detention Facility.
Reno residents can help fight graffiti vandalism by reporting it when they see it by calling RenoDirect at 334-INFO (334-4636), and giving the location of the graffiti vandalism for cleanup by the Reno Police Department’s graffiti abatement team.
Individuals with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those involved in the crime of graffiti vandalism are eligible for cash rewards of $250 to $1,000. Tips and information can be provided anonymously by calling Secret Witness as 322-4900.
