Buckbean holds mixology contest, two brewmasters dinners

RENO — Buckbean Brewing Co will be hosting two brewmasters dinners in April. The first dinner will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at the Edith Palmers Country Inn located at 416 S. “B” St. in Virginia City. The dinner is $35 per person and includes a menu to compliment Buckbean brews and is put together by Sarah Piccolo of Fork Catering Sonoma County, Calif. Can’t make it to Virginia City on Friday? Celebrate Earth Day on April 22 with a beer pairing dinner at Whole Foods in Reno. The dinner will feature a meal to compliment Buckbean brews and will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The dinner is $20 per person. Also, mixologists wanting to enter the Noddy Mixology Pro/Am being co-sponsored by Buckbean Brewing Company and 3rd Street Bar, host and co-sponsor, need to enter the contest by Sunday. The idea is to make a mixed drink with Buckbean Black Noddy Lager, and win the title of Best Mixed Noddy Drink and $500. The event will be held at 3rd Street Bar on April 25.
