Garcia finished with seven strikeouts, while walking four and giving up five hits. He also hit a triple at the plate.
Joe Christ and Joe Puccinelli both had two hits to lead the Maroon and Gold. Puccinelli drove in one of the three runs. Dakota Bailey went yard for a solo homer in the win.
Sparks had seven hits again in the second game, but three errors on defense proved costly. Kirk Putman was the only Sparks hitter with more than one hit in Game 2. He had a pair of hits, including a double.
The Railroaders start Spring Break with a non-league contest at Reed Monday night at 5 p.m.
•Sparks softball battled to a pair of close games with the Lions as well, but came away with nothing but two losses, 4-3 and 5-3.
Sparks softball coach Frank Avilla said Melissa Tallent threw well enough to win, but the offense went out of its discipline zones at the plate and helped Yerington's pitcher too much.
Sophomore Stephanie Parker led the way in the first game, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs. Allison Tallman was 2-for-3 in the game.
In Game 2, Krysti Collier was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Sparks is at Lassen Wednesday.
