WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Commerce Department’s Economic Development Administra-tion (EDA) on Monday announced a $40,000 grant to the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California of Gardnerville, Nev., to develop an economic development planning program.
“This project will enhance the tribe’s ability to be regionally competitive, increase short- and long-term profitability of tribal enterprises, boost job creation and advance our opportunities to attract suitable business and manufacturing facilities to tribal lands,” Washoe Tribal Chairman Waldo W. Walker said.
