“I have received awards before but this is the crème of the crop,” Bianchi said. “This is the best you can get.”
For his sales, Bianchi received a five-day, all expenses paid vacation to the Whistler Blackcomb Resort in British Columbia, Canada.
And while no sales numbers were shared, the recognition grouped Bianchi with a set of about 200 out of 18,000 sales people nationwide to earn the distinction.
“This award is the highest achievement that a Verizon Wireless sales employee can earn and represents truly outstanding individual performance,” said Verizon spokeswoman Heidi Flato.
The company uses a performance measures system making certain goals for employees to achieve and awarding recognitions based on who is able to make those goals.
Though the award recognized sales and performance measures, Bianchi said his achievement was not about the numbers.
“I have a strong dedication to our customer base and a strong, upbeat attitude,” Bianchi said.
The sales representative has been working for the Sparks store for almost five years.
A total of nine employees from the northern California and Nevada region were recognized for their outstanding performance in 2009, according to Flato with 48 in the west area alone.
“At Verizon Wireless, we encourage our employees to listen carefully to the needs of our customers and match the right products and services to those needs,” said Kevin Zavaglia, western regional president of Verizon Wireless. “Joseph exemplifies what it means to put customers first. He is highly valued by us and his customers.”
According to company representatives, Bianchi earned the distinction by demonstrating exceptional sales leadership and delivering an outstanding customer experience in assisting customers with wireless productivity tools, including wireless data applications like mobile broadband.
