Troopers seek witness to crash in Sun Valley

RENO –– Monday at about 8:15 p.m., the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Sun Valley Boulevard and Seventh Avenue. The vehicles involved were a blue Volkswagen Passat four-door sedan and a green Ford Expedition SUV. Both drivers and a passenger sustained injuries and were all transported to Renown Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the Volkswagen, Amber Nelson, 26, was listed in good condition Tuesday at Renown and her passenger, Nathan Philbrook, 26, and the driver of the Ford SUV, Edgardo Bautista, 19, were treated and later released. All are residents of Sun Valley.

Deputies are asking anyone who might have witnessed the collision to call Trooper Matt Kaplan at 688-2500 ex. 4 during regular business hours or the DPS-Communications Center at 687-0400, 24/7, regarding case No. NHP-1003221622.
