BLM Resource Advisory Council to meet in Carson City

CARSON CITY –– The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Carson City and Winnemucca districts announced this week that a meeting of the U.S. Department of the Interior, BLM-Nevada Sierra Front-Northwestern Great Basin Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will be held on March 30 at the BLM-Carson City District Office, 5665 Morgan Mill Road, starting at 9 a.m. Also, a RAC field trip will be held on March 31, departing the Morgan Mill Road location at 8 a.m. for stops at various public land sites in Carson City, Storey and Washoe counties.

Members of the public are invited to participate both days but they will need to provide their own transportation and lunch on the field trip on March 31.

Topics of RAC discussion will include, but are not limited to, an update on the BLM-Nevada Wild Horse and Burro Program, ARRA stimulus projects implementation, proposed New Comstock Wind Energy Project/EIS area and the Washoe County Illegal Dumping Task Force.

The public may present general written and oral comments to the RAC in Carson City at 4 p.m. on March 30.
