Battle Mountain — The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Northeastern Great Basin Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet on March 4 at 8 a.m. at the BLM Elko District Office, 3900 E. Idaho St. The public is invited to attend the meeting and may speak or provide written comments to the RAC during a public comment period that will begin at about at 9:25 a.m. Discussion items will include Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act nominations for northern Nevada, Battle Mountain Complex livestock grazing permit renewals, cooperative monitoring, mining updates, the Battle Mountain Resource Management Plan and other topics the council may raise. The BLM will present managers’ reports of field office activities. The federal Land Policy and Management Act directs the secretary of the interior to involve the public in planning and discussion of issues related to management of BLM-administered public lands.
