RENO, Nev. (AP) — NV Energy Inc. Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer William D. Rogers has resigned, and a search for a permanent successor is under way.

NV Energy Chief Accounting Officer and Controller E. Kevin Bethel will serve as interim CFO until the permanent successor is named.

Company President and CEO Michael Yackira praised Rogers for his work over the last five years, saying he helped position the company for long-term success.

NV Energy is a holding company whose subsidiaries, Las Vegas-based Nevada Power Co. and Reno-based Sierra Pacific Powr Co., provide electricity and natural gas to most Nevadans.
