FALLON – A trucker from Texas was arrested on drug charges after failing to stop at a security checkpoint at the Fallon Naval Air Station, authorities said.

Jeremiah Thomas, 28, was admitted to the base through a gate on Thursday to deliver an aircraft engine and directed to the security checkpoint.

He was quickly pulled over after failing to stop at the checkpoint, said base spokesman Zip Upham.

The Churchill County Sheriff's Office was notified after security personnel said they saw evidence of drugs, Upham said.

Upham said Thomas was never considered a threat to the base.

"We do not consider it a breach but a failure to follow directions," he said.

Thomas was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
