partment has recently received several calls from citizens inquiring if the department is soliciting money from citizens.

The Sparks Police Department is not soliciting any monies, or anything else, from its citizens at this time.

The solicitors are both male and female, say they are from the Sparks police and are seeking donations.

If you receive this type of call it is a scam. The department urges citizens to be cautious when receiving solicitations for money over the phone, and never give out names, birth dates, Social Security numbers or any financial information.
