Hit and run investigation

SPARKS — Sparks police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred Thursday at 10:36 p.m. at the River’s Edge RV Park. A green 1997 Ford Explorer was traveling north in the 1400 block of Rock Boulevard when it crashed through a fence and struck a gas line in the RV park, causing a gas leak. Between 20 and 30 people were temporarily evacuated while the Sparks Fire Department sealed the gas leak; NV Energy was working on fixing it Friday morning. All residents have been allowed to return to their residences and there were no reported injuries.

The driver of of the vehicle fled the area and had not been located or identified as of Friday morning. Sparks police would like anyone with information on this incident to contact them at 353-2231 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
