SPARKS - Snow is expected throughout the afternoon with a high near 25 and north winds around 10 mph. A total daytime snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Trooper Chuck Allen of the Nevada Highway Patrol said that area roads continued to see weather-related accidents throughout the morning and afternoon.

As he looked to tonight’s NHP workload expectations, Allen suggested that those who can leave work early today should do so.

“Give yourself a lot of leeway time,” he said.

Tonight should bring a 30 percent chance of snow showers with cloudy skies, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 4 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday, the forecast is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 24 and west winds between 5 and 10 mph.
