RENO — Renown Health has rescheduled seasonal flu shot events after receiving its completed shipment of the seasonal flu vaccine. Six event dates have been scheduled for early December where seasonal flu and pneumonia vaccine will be available to the public. Clinics on the following dates will all be held at the Reno Town Mall on S. Virginia Street and Peckham Lane.

Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Seasonal flu shots are offered at no cost to Medicare beneficiaries (Part B), members of Senior Care Plus or Hometown Health fully insured HMO and PPO plans. All other persons can receive the seasonal flu shots for $28 and the Pneumonia Shots for $50.

“The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends a flu vaccine as the first and most important thing people can do to protect against the flu,” said Lori Mitchell, wellness resources manager at Renown Health. “Additional preventive actions like washing your hands and covering your cough will help stop the spread of germs.”

Pediatric flu shots are available by appointment only for children ages 6 months to 8 years old. Call 982-4148 to schedule these appointments.

Community members are encouraged to visit www.renown.org/flu or call 982-5757 for updates.
