The winning ticket is drawn at the Museum’s anniversary party each November. After the winner is announced the raffle car for the upcoming year is unveiled during the anniversary celebration. The 2009 raffle car winner is a former Reno resident who has since moved to Louisiana. He was visiting his family in Reno when he bought 20 tickets for $20 just three months before the drawing for the 1992 Corvette. One of those 20 tickets was the lucky winner. The 2010 National Automobile Museum raffle car is a 1975 Ferrari 308 GT4 Dino donated to the museum by Earl Casazza to boost fundraising efforts. “While every car we raffle is special,” said Jackie Frady, executive director of the National Automobile Museum, “this one has ties to Bill Harrah himself.” The Ferrari is a one-owner car with less than 22,000 miles on it. Casazza knows that for certain because he purchased the car new from Bill Harrah’s Ferrari dealership, Modern Classic Motors, when it was located in downtown Reno. Tickets for a chance to win the car are available daily at the museum, at special events such as Hot August Nights and the National Championship Air Races and online at www.automuseum.org.
