Leonard O. Franklin, a registered Tier 2 sex offender, was arrested Oct. 3 following a report of a sexual assault of a 12-year-old female. Franklin is alleged to have fondled and sexually assaulted the girl while she was spending the night with Franklin’s step-daughter at his residence. The alleged victim reported the incident to a family member who reported it to police.
Franklin was detained for violation of his probation, which prohibits children at his residence without specific conditions being met. He was later booked on the sexual assault and lewdness charges.
The Reno Police detectives are asking other female juveniles who may have visited or stayed at Leonard’s residence, or who have information about such occurrences, to contact the Reno Police Department Sex Crimes/ Child Abuse Unit at 785-8605, or provide their information anonymously to the Secret Witness
