RENO — Gather up the children and your walking shoes and meet Reno City Council members Jessica Sferrazza and Dave Aiazzi on Monday at 12 p.m. at the Hi Point Coffee Shop located at 1655 Robb Drive #2.

Weather permitting, the plan is to take a walk through Canyon Creek Park, which now features an exciting initiative that combines a children’s story with a popular walking route called StoryWalk. Children’s books are selected, the pages separated, laminated and placed along a walking path at regular intervals so readers can follow the story as they walk the route.

This walking program, called “Fresh Air, New Ideas,” provides an informal way for residents to meet and chat with members of the council and get a little exercise.

Another walk set for Oct. 26 starting at the Kona Gold Coffee Company, located at 3304 S. McCarran Blvd. at 12 p.m. Council member Sharon Zadra is expected to re-join the group.
