Help plan for Sparks parks and recreation services

Sparks residents are invited to offer input about the city’s parks and recreation services through an online questionnaire. The questionnaire can be accessed online at www.sparksrec.com beginning Oct. 15. Paper copies of the questionnaire will be available at the following facilities:

Sparks City Hall, 431 Prater Way

Sparks Parks and Recreation Office, 98 Richards Way

Alf Sorensen Community Center, 1400 Baring Blvd.

Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, 2680 E. Ninth St.

Larry D. Johnson Community Center, 1200 12th St.

Sparks Library, 1125 12th St.

Sparks Senior Center, 97 Richards Way

The questionnaire asks for provide input on existing and future parks and recreation facilities, including fields, courts, trails, gyms, swimming pools, cultural and arts programs.

Additionally, a public workshop will be held on Oct. 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Larry D. Johnson Community Center. The workshop will give residents the opportunity to take part in brainstorming exercises and to elaborate past the scope of the questionnaire.

The information gathered will be included in the Recreation Needs Assessment Report, which will detail current and future park and recreation needs of the community.
