“As one of the largest food distributors in northern Nevada, we hope that the decals will serve as a reminder of people in our own community who need assistance,” U.S. Foodservice-Reno division president Bill Engle said. “We want these decals to inspire members of our community to join the fight against hunger.”
In 2008, U.S. Foodservice-Reno and its 135 employees donated more than 279,000 pounds of food and more than $30,000 to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
U.S. Foodservice-Reno employees also regularly donate time to deliver food to the outlying northern Nevada communities of Winnemucca, Battle Mountain, Eureka, Austin and Gerlach. Food donations are also made three times per week to the local Food Bank of Northern Nevada warehouse.
U.S. Foodservice is one of the country’s premier foodservice distributors. The company employs 26,000 associates in more than 60 locations nationwide. To find out more about U.S. Foodservice, visit www.usfoodservice.com
