On Monday, the Northern Nevada Australian Shepherd Club (NNASC) will hold its monthly meeting.

NNASC is sanctioned by the Australian Shepherd Club of America, whose performance events are open to all breeds. The club has been actively holding agility, herding and obedience trials, as well as conformation shows for more than 15 years. They are also planning fall and winter activities that will include obedience training and agility practice. All dog breeds, as well as mixed breeds, are welcome.

The main emphasis of NNASC is fun with your dog. Everyone is welcome but the group is asking that no dogs attend Monday’s meeting. The group will be having a grooming demonstration by Sherry Roach, owner of Best Little Pet House. She will be demonstrating how to easily trim Australian Shepherds for show, though her presentation will also cover keeping the average dog looking well-groomed. Anyone who owns an Australian Shepherd, or would like to know more about the breed, is welcome and encouraged to attend this meeting.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Best Little Pet House, 1870 Vassar St. # 5 in Reno. The location is a block west of the Vassar Street Post Office.
