Polling places in Sparks had a 30-minute wait Friday afternoon as voters took advantage of the last day of early voting in Washoe County.

The Scolari's on Disc Drive had a line that wound out the door and around the building starting at 10:15 Friday morning, poll manager Norm Schiff said.

The wait at Alf Sorensen community center on Baring Boulevard was about 30 minutes Friday afternoon and had been that long since the polls opened that morning.

The wait at the Sparks library on 12th Street was about 30 minutes according to the poll manager there.

However, at the Washoe County Complex on Ninth Street in Reno, the wait was about 10 minutes Friday afternoon. The polling location at the University of Nevada, Reno had a similar story.

As of 2:15 p.m., 500 people had voted at the Scolari's store, which has 10 machines available. The total number of voters at that location through poll closing Thursday night was 8,935.

The Alf Sorensen community center ordered two additional machines Friday afternoon to accommodate the rush of early voters there. That location had served about 300 voters as of 1 p.m.

The Sparks library had a total of nine machines available.

No locations reported any techinical problems with thier machines as of Friday afternoon.

Early voting closes at 6 p.m. at Alf Sorensen, UNR, the Sparks library and the County offices. Bartley Ranch is also offering early voting on Nevada Day and it closes at 6 p.m. as well. All Scolari's locations as well as Shoppers Square in Reno close their polls at 7 p.m. Anyone who is still in line as of closing time will be able to cast their votes even after the 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. deadlines.

The two of you posters are imposters....! You can't be serious...! Anybody in their right mind would vote for Neil Grad over the incumbent. Chet Adams' tenure is OVER...!! Far too much of our hard-earned money has been paid out to cover his malfeasance in office episodes, which money could be providing more fire and police protection for us... All I can say is, "1st time voter" and "trendsetter" sound like virgins in politics.

I stood in line for 37 minutes and voted for the first time. I voted for Chet Adams. He is the right man for the job. I think he has done a great job. I know he will do a great job for another four years too. Go Chet!

I think it is just wonderful that all of those people have waited in line to vote for our next city attorney, Chet Adams.
