RTC Access fares for paratransit service to people with disabilities will increase beginning Sunday.

At its Feb. 12 meeting, the Regional Transportation Commission approved two phased-in fare increases for RTC Access customers. The first was effective May 3, raising the fare to $2.50 per ticket and the second will be implemented Aug. 30, raising the fare to $3 per ticket.

The board made no changes to the RTC Access service area boundaries. A one-way trip inside the zone designated by the Americans with Disabilities Act will still cost one ticket. A one-way trip outside the ADA zone will still cost two tickets. Existing tickets will continue to be honored after the fare increase. The ADA zone roughly follows near the RTC Ride routes.
