CARSON CITY — Northern Nevada Development Authority (NNDA) has announced the State of the Economy business resource reception to be held on Sept. 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St. This is a rare opportunity to find out where the state’s economy is headed and what Nevada’s team of economic developers are doing to restore prosperity to the region.

Lt. Governor Brian Krolicki will share the successes of the state’s economic development efforts in recent months within the Sierra region. He will emphasize Nevada’s ongoing strengths while also highlighting the resources Nevada has available to businesses.

Michael Skaggs, executive director of the Nevada Commission on Economic Development, and Rob Hooper, executive director of the NNDA, will also share their strategies and goals for the Sierra region. Uncover why Nevada is again luring companies not only from California but from states like Washington, Oregon and others, and discover the new direction and exciting efforts underway in keeping Nevada’s economy strong.

While identifying successes, the program will bring together, in a one-stop-shop networking atmosphere, the key resource providers who will share their expertise and explain their programs and services on a one-on-one basis.

“A similar reception was held in March, which brought together more than 50 area business owners and managers who connected with 15 resource providers,” Hooper said. “Each person received one-on-one, face-to-face time to ask questions, get answers and learn more about these great resource organizations; and in most cases, these critical services are on a no-cost basis.”

Attendees will discover the many business services that are offered, lending options available, government bidding opportunities and other related programs. Resource providers from organizations such as Nevada Small Business Development Center at UNR (NSBDC), Management Assistance Partnership (MAP), Nevada Microenterprise Initiative (NMI), Nevada State Development Corporation (NSDC), Procurement Outreach Program (POP), US Small Business Administration (SBA), Truckee Meadows Community College and many more will be on hand.
