Hoffman has held a number of key leadership roles in high-growth, global companies as well as carrying on a musical career. Starting her career in law, she built a law firm in Silicon Valley, Calif., then co-founded a life science company where she was the CEO and president.
Hoffman has been awarded many civic and community awards and is an accomplished singer, pianist and violinist.
“This honor of being the general director of the Nevada Opera is the culmination of the careers in law, business and theater,” Hoffman said.
The Nevada Opera Association, located in Reno, is the only professional opera company and the oldest professional performing arts organization in Nevada, with a history that extends back to 1968. The 2009-2010 season’s presentations are “Carmen” (October), “HMS Pinafore” (February), and a concert by Hope Briggs (May), the Association’s 2007 Aida.
