The driver of a 1985 Oldsmobile sedan involved in the triple-fatality accident on US 395 near Glendale Avenue has been identified as 19-year-old Heather Norris of Reno. Norris is still in the intensive care unit at Renown Regional Medical Center.
The two male passengers that were riding in the sedan with Norris have been identified as Terrance Elmassian, 20, and 23-year-old Michael Koroulakis of San Bernardino, Calif.
Police said Elmassian had just moved to Reno four days prior to the accident from Southern California. It is believed that he was riding in the rear seat of the vehicle and he was wearing a seat belt. Koroulakis was believed to have been riding in the right front passenger seat, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle during the accident.
Police are still attempting to identify the third victim with help from the coroner’s office. Police believe that the female victim is 18 years old and possibly from Sun Valley.
The victims were passengers in a car that overturned when the 19-year-old driver swerved Tuesday to avoid a piece of furniture that had fallen out of pickup truck on U.S. 395.
The vehicle struck the center freeway divider and rolled into northbound travel lanes, where it was struck by an oncoming sport utility vehicle driven by 32-year-old Kari L. Estrada of Reno.
Estrada was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, but her 8-month old son, Nikko, was unharmed.
