On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the parking lot at Whole Foods Market will go to the dogs at the Dog Days of Summer Dog Wash. For a minimum $10 donation, local pet owners can treat their canine pals to a bath and towel dry, courtesy of volunteers from the Nevada Humane Society and Whole Foods Market. For a minimum $5 donation, your dog can have a “peticure” (nail trim). All proceeds from this event will benefit the homeless animals at the Nevada Humane Society.
In addition to the dog wash, pet product samples will be available and pet training instructors from PetSmart will be on hand to answer questions about our canine friends.
“The weather is perfect for treating your pooch to a little good, clean fun,” said Heidi Draper, marketing team leader for Whole Foods Market. “You can get your best buddy a bath and help many pets who desperately need homes.”
“We’re grateful to the folks at Whole Foods Market for helping to save homeless pets in our community,” said Bonney Brown, executive director of Nevada Humane Society.
Whole Foods Market is located at 6139 South Virginia St. in Reno.
