Join Sparks Fire Department for a great pancake breakfast for the kick-off of National Fire Prevention Week on Saturday. Drop by the main fire station, 1605 Victorian Ave., between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. for pancakes, ham, eggs and more served by city leaders. Have fun, enjoy a great breakfast and learn about the many ways Sparks Fire Department helps keep everybody safe.

This year’s theme is “It’s Fire Prevention Week: Prevent Home Fires!” Learn important safety tips to use at home while the entire family explores interactive displays. Discover the many services fire fighters perform for our community and tour the fire station. Proceeds generated support local fire prevention activities and victims of fire.

Adults are $4 and children and seniors are $2. Free parking and shuttle service will be provided. Park west of the theater on C Street at Victorian Plaza. Look for the “Boys and Girls Club” shuttle.

Kick off Fire Prevention Week with us on Saturday and learn simple steps to protect yourself and your home. Remember that Oct. 5 through 11 is the perfect opportunity to “bring home” life-saving messages – literally. One home fire starts in the United States every 80 seconds, with eight out of every 10 fire deaths happening at home. Learn how to prevent home fires and take action.

New this year: To celebrate the 20th annual pancake breakfast, we’ve added a scavenger hunt, complete with a special prize for each family. Join Sparks Fire for a hands-on look at what it does year-round, enjoy a great breakfast and take home important messages to protect yourself and your family.
