On Friday at 9:30 p.m., Sparks Police Department officers and detectives responded to several 911 calls of shots fired in an apartment complex. SPD Dispatch also received a phone call about a subject possibly being shot in the head. Officers were unable to locate any victim(s) in the area, though they did locate two separate crime scenes, including one that had numerous casings and projectiles, and another crime scene with blood on a nearby sidewalk.

Officers and detectives interviewed several witnesses on scene and believe this shooting is gang motivated. A 17-year-old male suspect from Sparks was arrested for probation violation, though his involvement in this case is still to be determined.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sparks Police Department Detective Bureau at 353-2225, Sparks Police Dispatch at 353-2231, or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
