RENO, Nev. (AP) — The ailing economy has forced the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival to lay off one full-time worker and reduce pay to other staff.

Executive Director Catherine Atack says advance ticket sales and corporate sponsorships have slowed, reducing the troupe's cash flow.

But Atack says the 2009 season at Sand Harbor State Park will go on as scheduled from July 11 to Aug. 23.

She says much of the company's costs are in design, building and rehearsal time.

This year's Shakespeare productions include "Measure for Measure" and "Much Ado About Nothing."
