People looking to free up garage space by getting rid of motor sports gear can participate in Moto Fest taking place at Spanish Spring High School today. The event is a fundraiser for the school's athletic department, and all proceeds will go toward new gear, traveling costs and other expenses.

“It’s geared toward people interested in motor sports,” event organizer Dee Ayala said. “People who ride jet skis, dirt bikes or things of that nature can find gear they might need.”

Since the fundraiser will be benefiting the entire athletic department, various athletic teams will also be having games and food to raise additional funds.

“Different schools are known for different fundraisers and we wanted to do something unique,” Ayala said. “We saw that the area didn’t have anything like this and wanted to have a fundraiser where motor sports enthusiasts could buy and sell gear.”

This is the second year that the fundraiser will be taking place and Ayala hopes they will raise between $1,500 and $3,000.

The event will take place today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Spanish Springs High School parking lot. The admission fee is $5 and kids 10 and under are free. In addition to food and games put on by the school’s sports teams, there will also be a bounce house and raffle prizes. People who are interested in selling their gear can reserve a booth for $15.
