On Oct. 8 at about 8 p.m. detectives from the Sparks Police Department and Reno Police Department served a search warrant in the 800 block of Glen Valley Drive in Sparks.

The search warrant was related to fraud-related activities such as forged checks and forged credit cards. Kristopher Woolfe, 33, Mary Ferdinand, 34, and Keyon Chavarria, 38, were all taken into custody on a variety of fraud-related charges, traffic charges and other existing criminal warrants. Exact charges and bail amounts for each have not been determined at this time and the investigation is continuing.

At the time the warrant was served, Ferdinand and Chavarria were inside the house on Glen Valley. Through the course of the investigation, information was obtained indicating that there could be multiple firearms inside the house. When Ferdinand and Chavarria refused to exit the house as ordered, the Sparks Police SWAT team was activated. Ferdinand and Chavarria did eventually exit the residence and were taken into custody without further incident.

Washoe County Animal Control was also called to assist with multiple aggressive pit bulls.
