LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Company executives say Nevada's twin electric utilities, Sierra Pacific Power in Reno and Nevada Power in Las Vegas, are going to be known under one name.

Together, they're going to be called NV Energy Inc.

But officials say they're still going to be legally separate entities under Reno-based parent company Sierra Pacific Resources.

Company president and CEO Michael Yackira said Monday the move won't mean layoffs, and won't require much more than a change of signs and letterhead.

He says customers will start seeing the NV Energy Inc. name on bills pretty soon.

The company serves some 2.4 million Nevada residents statewide.
