RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police say two people were arrested and 12 others were cited after a large crowd congregated for illegal street racing over the weekend.

Police say more than 100 people had gathered on Edison Way south of Mill Street early Sunday to watch or participate in the illegal racing.

Many fled when officers arrived, but 14 were detained.

Two 20-year-olds, Maria Zimora and Latosha Edmonson, were arrested on a charge of being a spectator at a speed contest. The others received citations for the same offense.

Police say one 17-year-old also was cited for a curfew violation.

Let's report them to their auto insurance companies. Hopefully they have parents who don't want high premiums.
