RENO, Nev. (AP) — A Reno police detective has been arrested and charged with suspicion of drunken driving.

Monica Geddry is the second Reno police officer arrested for DUI in the past two months.

Washoe County Sheriff's spokeswoman Brooke Keast says sheriff's deputies arrested the 42-year-old detective at about 1 a.m. after she allegedly made an improper turn and failed to drive within marked lanes. She is scheduled to appear in Reno Justice Court on May 1.

Geddry helped run a local police program in 2002 that taught high school students about the dangers of driving drunk.

Reno Police Deputy Chief Jim Johns says she will remain on duty while his department conducts an internal investigation.
