A spokesman for the city of Sparks announced Friday that a controversial vote on the proposed Lazy 8 casino and resort, scheduled for Monday, has been delayed.

According to City spokesman Adam Mayberry, city staff delayed the item because they felt it needed additional review.

An April 2 city planning commission meeting on the proposed hotel and casino drew comments from more than 140 people. Almost all were in opposition to the project.
