“Here’s the rub,” Salon.com said. “If you like ribs, there’s no better place to be than this great gastronomic feast that competes to win over your taste buds. Music, meats and crafts (of the art and beer variety) make for a family-friendly way to cap off the summer.”
This summer, 24 of the nation’s top competitive rib cookers will vie for the coveted first-place trophy, cash prizes and the People’s Choice Award as 500,000 hungry BBQ-lovers consume more than 233,400 pounds of ribs over an extended Labor Day weekend. The crowd also loves the annual Best in the West Nugget World Rib Eating Championship, featuring pros from Major League Eating, including the No. 1-ranked competitive eater, Joey Chestnut.
The 25th Annual Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off is set to take place on Aug. 28 – Sept.2.
