During the past few years, RTC has redesigned some area streets to improve safety and enhance access for all users such as bicyclists, transit riders, pedestrians and motorists. Studies indicate numerous safety benefits for Complete Street redesigns, including reducing vehicle crashes and pedestrian injuries/ fatalities. Yet there is minimal information about the economic impacts to businesses and homeowners such as property values, crime and vacancy rates.
Elements of a Complete Street may include wider sidewalks, bike lanes, reconfigured travel lanes and street connectivity. Areas where Complete Streets have been implemented include: Mayberry Drive, South Wells Avenue/Holcomb Avenue, Victorian Avenue and West 7 receive a survey request during the week of May 27 use these facilities and others to participate in the survey to help make the Truckee Meadows a more livable, safer, healthier and prosperous community.
